No. Grapes 3D is not a 3D audio engine itself. Instead, it connects via OSC to the 3D audio engine of your choice, sending positioning data for sound objects and enabling faster, more intuitive, and more creative spatial audio mixing and performance.
Can I integrate Grapes 3D in my DAW?
Yes. Grapes 3D runs as a VST3 plugin in any VST3-compatible DAW. You can record all spatial movements as MIDI automation or trigger movement clips and scenes directly from your DAW’s timeline.
Can I mix Dolby Atmos with Grapes 3D?
Yes. Grapes 3D works with Dolby Atmos in some DAWs. Since Atmos doesn’t have an open OSC interface, Grapes can’t control the renderer directly. Instead, Grapes 3D controls the objects through the DAW’s integrated Dolby Atmos panners or the Dolby Atmos Music Panner — for example in Nuendo or Reaper — allowing you to shape spatial audio efficiently within your existing Atmos workflow.
Is Grapes 3D work for live context / performance?
Yes. Grapes 3D works for live artistic performance and show control. It sends real-time positioning data to your 3D audio engine, letting artists and audio engineers perform, automate, and shape sound objects dynamically.
