Spatial Audio for Warehouse Artefacts
Warehouse Artefacts, presented during Art Basel, brought together the artistic visions of Thomas Bangalter, Julian Charrière, and Rampa in an immersive audiovisual installation.
For this project, Thomas Bangalter’s composition was mixed and spatialized for a 12-channel 3D sound system built with Teile Speakers. The complete spatial audio workflow was realized using Grapes 3D Audio Control, enabling precise positioning and movement of sound throughout the installation space.
The project continues a long-standing collaboration with artist Julian Charrière, whose immersive installations have explored the relationship between sound, space, and perception for many years. Grapes 3D Audio Control played a central role in translating the artistic concept into a dynamic three-dimensional listening experience.
The installation was made possible through the close collaboration of an outstanding production team, including Victor Mazon (lighting design), Agron Isaku and the Nordstern team, as well as Reinhard Hoen and Audio Rent, whose technical expertise and organization ensured a seamless realization.
Projects like Warehouse Artefacts demonstrate how spatial audio technology can become an integral part of immersive media art, giving artists intuitive tools to shape sound as a truly three-dimensional medium.
